Dear Players,
Recently, you updated to a version of Word Overflow that includes ads. We were met with a surprising amount of pushback from our players. What surprised us was that Word Overflow is in fact a free app. We don’t charge you to download the app nor to play as many full games as you would like. And as much as we would love to make great apps all the time and not have to worry about money, as it is in everyone’s lives, it’s not an option.
Some of the feedback we received was well thought out and made great points. One of these points was that players that already spent a few dollars in the store, felt they were being cheated by all of a sudden having ads in their games. Those customers were (we feel) rightfully upset. And because we truly appreciate all of our players, we want to make it right.
An update (1.2.2) has been submitted for Word Overflow that will correct this wrong turn. Once the update is approved by Apple and you download it to your device, any player that has purchased anything from the Word Overflow store will have ads removed automatically. If you have made purchases in the past, no worries, the ads will already be removed when you start playing.
We feel that this is the best course of action for everyone. Those that prefer to play Word Overflow at no cost can continue to do so while supporting Paw Apps with ad views while those that have made purchases to enhance their gameplay will not be hindered by ads.
